Dear Rosie Thank you for your wonderful descriptive pictures of the whales and polar bears. They reminded me of how fortunate I have been to have watched whales in their natual habitats on the Canadian east and west coasts, in our own Bay of Fundy and in the Caribbean. I think that whales are god's most magnificient creatures and I do hope that we find a way to protect them and those majestic polar bears such that future generations of children will have an opportunity to revel in their being. I am hopeful that you found a place to stay in Akureyri and were able to confirm schedules and plans for your trip from Iceland to Scotland. Rosie we are keeping you in our thoughts and praying that the harsh artic weather subsides so that you may have a safe and healthy conclusion to your travels through Iceland.

Sounds like you're having fun in Iceland. We've been watching your journey since we camped and drank beer with you in Two Harbors, MN while we were all there to run Grandma's Marathon. Wish I could be running with you. Jane says to tell you she saw you on the Martha Stewart show. Minnesota is starting to thaw. We're seeing the first bare ground we've seen since early December. Still managed to ride my bicycle to work nearly every day all winter. Keep having fun! We'll be watching for your transit to Scotland. It should be grand to be back in the UK, but then again, it may be a letdown to know that your fabulous journey is nearly over. Jane and Dan Kimmel

Hi Rosie! Wonder when you'll be in Akureyri. Hope everything is going fine despite heavy weather more or less in our cold & icy country. You are really a hero to conquer all that. Look foreward to see you. Borghildur

Dear Rosie Well winter has not diminished in its fury since you were here in Eastern Canada at Christmas. We have been the unfortunate recipients of a record breaking number of storms in addition to record breaking snowfall and freezing rain amounts. Needless to say everyone is feeling the affects of this very long and difficult winter and even though spring is only eight days away we have another storm forecast for this coming weekend. I think our weather is a reminder that no matter how bad we think we have it that it is nothing compared to the harsh artic winter that you are enduring with such courage and grace every minute of every day as you travel across Iceland. Your vivid descriptions of those magnificent horses, the picturesque and wild landscape, the warmth and charm of the Icelandic people and the ferocious artic winds have bought your travels to life for those of us who have become your faithful and captivated followers and why it is with great excitement and anticipation that we await your travel reports. You give us hope and inspiration. As always you are in our thoughts and prayers. Stay healthy. Your friends from NB.

Hi Rosie, Do you remember the chap that you met in Siberia who was doing the "round the world in 90 days on a motorcycle trip"? He stayed at our B&B in Nova Scotia last year and shared part of his story with us. I told him that he was a book waiting to be written and then he told me about meeting you and the astonishing journey that you are making!! WOW! This is the first time that I have visited your website and have only just begun to read your story. I only wish that I had come here earlier so that I could have arranged to meet you on your way through the Maritime Provinces in Canada. I just wanted to say that what you are doing is amazing!! Of course, you don't need me to tell you that. LOL I admire your strength, both physical & mental. You are such an inspiration to so many people and I wish you all the best for the remainder of your trip. Hang in there...you're almost home!! Jane
